Me & My Plays by Mahesh Dattani

Hello guys!
I arranged a poll on my Instagram ( SI Creationx ) a few days ago about reviewing the book "Me & My plays by Mahesh Dattani". The poll went positive as most of you wanted a review of this dramatic masterpiece. So here I am, giving you a feedback of this piece and personally I loved studying this book and enjoyed the theatrical content of Dattani's book at its peak.
The book is divided into three main parts. First portion comprises of Mahesh Dattani's life story which mentions his interest and struggle for theatre. Second part is a stage drama "Where did I leave my Purdah?" and the third part is also a play named "The Big Fat City". Both of these plays have turned to be a massive success for Dattani as they catch bare highlights from the practices of society. Dattani's first part portrays his interest for theatre from his childhood and his increasing passion and struggle along with his increasing age. It seemed more like a success story to me because Dattani has thoroughly told about his highs and lows regarding his theatre struggle. This portion also reflects Dattani's initiative in theatre for putting forward plays on topics like homosexuality, religious fanaticism and child sexual abuse etc. He faced severe criticism from his people for such plays.
Second portion is a play "Where did I leave my Purdah?" This play puts a spotlight on the life of a theatre actress named Nazia who is in her 80s and she is forced to remember some past events of her life due to Zarine and her daughter Nikhat while Nazia has planned a comeback on stage. However, the play ends on a positive note when Nazia twirls in ultimate happiness.
The third part is a play named "The Big Fat City". Dattani's theme for it is black comedy which portrays lives of different people and how they end up in Mumbai being stuck in a murder case of India's renowned actress Lalita Jagtiani's husband. I found this play a bit cold but still it was thrilling as major actions like drug addiction and murder are performed in a light tone with great skill by players.
On a whole, I loved the life story of Dattani because it gives me major motivation vibes. Talking about the plays, my favorite was Where did I left my Purdah due to its thrilling strong climax. Dattani has used sophisticated approach for both the plays and depicted them beautifully on stage. The actors have also added beauty to the plays by putting extreme effort and performing at their levels best.
That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Comment below and tell me your sincere thoughts about it. Also tell me your views even if you've read this book and you've got your own point of view.

My 3 Semester in BBA Hons

I’m here telling you a tale of my last four and a half months which I spend in the 3 Semester of BBA Hons. This semester comprised of 6 subjects in total. These were:
Prospectus
  • Arabic 2
  • Financial Accounting 2
  • Macroeconomics
  • Oral Communication
  • Money, Banking & Finance
  • Taxation Management
Some of these may seem boring to you but for a business student like me, most of these were interesting and the only subject I found boring was Macroeconomics. However I enjoyed all these subjects with activities like a walk on university roads and grounds, a steamy hot Nescafé cappuccino and a constant which was Harry Potter.

Harry Potter Novels

I started reading Harry Potter novel series around September, 2018 and ended the 7 parts in January, 2019. On a true note, I found myself lost in Hogwarts world every time I read Harry Potter. Given below are glimpses of my cappuccino.
Cappuccino & Cupcake

My coffee in chilly mornings was a great source of warmth. I'll miss the coffee & cake and the great amount of chatting with my friends.

Now coming to the events which I found endlessly interesting.
  • Presentations delivered on "E – Commerce", "Asian Development Bank" and You're not weird" proved huge successes for me and my friends. Truly saying we practiced a lot before presentations that how to stand properly while speaking, how to pose confidently and how to make eye contact with audience. Our efforts bore fruit and we were in air after delivering these presentations.
You're not weird

E Commerce
You're not weird
  • Financial Accounting 2 was complicated but I learnt a lot from the teacher who taught us. He always told us kind and compassionate stories of humanity after lectures and also gave small demonstrations on how to respect our teachers and how to prepare good notes too.
  •  The tensed times in Arabic class were fun and full of tantrums when our teacher took oral assignments and told us to translate sentences and words from Arabic to Urdu.
  • One more thing which is most important of all that I started blogging. Blogging is a new roller coaster ride for me and it teaches me a new lesson everyday. I feel new while recreating different pictures with unique editing techniques.
  • I found my spoken skills improving as we were bound to speak English during the time teacher delivered lectures in Oral Communication class.
  • One thing which really took effort was that we needed to strive at our level best for achieving good sessional marks in Taxation Management. It was complicated for us to understand the methodologies in Taxation Management.
All these small factors constitute my exciting 3 Semester. I learnt a lot from my teachers in terms of formal and informal education along with laughter and humour. Moreover, I came to know about the abilities I was capable of and I started practicing them. All such stuff brings creativity to me. I am much more confident in anything I do now and the major credit goes to all learning I did in my 3 Semester. It doesn't means a full stop now that 3 Semester is over but it opens broader ways of further learning in educational and practical field for me. I am thrilled for learning more and I hope I may learn much more new things so that I may become a good human being and a successful person.

My dearest Sumaiya

Asalam o Alaikum people. A sour memory of sweet relationship struck me up when I was preparing for my second last exam last week. I was reminding myself of this event from a long time but still I forgot about it. May be it was due to the will of Allah Almighty that I forgot but I remember it now and I'm sharing it with you all.
My this edit is in the memory of my little cutie (Sumaiya) with whom I once owned a beautiful sister like friendly relationship. May you always be happy in heaven and be a beneficiary for your loved ones on Earth, on the day of judgement (Amin).
It seems really easy to move on with the things going on in daily life but all such things contain adorable memories of you with us all the time. Whenever I pass through any time, place or occasion (especially Mc Donalds) involving a memory of you, I feel my heart with a very strange pain. I did not see you when your soul departed from this world in 2016 but I still remember the time when I heard the news of your departure from your father. I feel a thousand feelings rushing inside me but what comes up in the form of my words is  "May your beautiful soul rest in peace and may your parents always have the courage of facing your memories in their everyday life with beautiful smiles on their faces" (Amin). You were always the beautiful pearl with whom uncle's and auntie's life sparkled. Every time I see in their faces, I see a face of you in their faces and your beautiful eyes, your glowing smile and innocent poems n rhymes always move across a screen in my mind. It's been 3 years and I've learnt to control my tears but I can't inhibit your memories coming in my mind and reminding me of your beautiful being. What I could do is just praying, the every single time when a memory of you flickers across my mind and expect you to pray for us in a much more elegant way in front of our Creator. Some bonds are unbreakable even when they stop nourishing. What actually makes them unbreakable are memories, beliefs and prayers. I still remember you my dearest (Sumaiya) and pray for you every single time when your memory hangs me up.

Kindness and Compassion

I experienced something really heart touching today and felt that we should always be kind and compassionate with all people around us. But the main theme which lies in this sentence is that we should always play our best role in the mean time for our loved ones.
Today I felt a strong heart touching move when one of my family relative were stuck in a really hard time facing serious health issues and I found my father helping him in the best possible way. The thing was that he found help in the most critical hours of his life and he was moved to tears of thankfulness on the help he was offered. And this is the conclusion I came up to! Let's help people in their critical and hard times, let's reveal our kindness and compassion for the people of our Lord and let's let them pray for us in their difficult times. I mean helping people is good but helping people in their most difficult times serves even a greater purpose. May be we can't imagine what great source of relief we're opening for a specific person. Our help can bring down a great pile of burden from their shoulders.
It's the basic teaching of all religions in the world. Whether we're Muslims, Christians, Hindus or the follower of any religion, what we're taught is doing kind deeds and providing people with the best possible help we can.
There's something we quote in urdu " نیکی کر، دریا میں ڈال" This means helping people in the best possible way without keeping a count of number of times we helped people. Simply it states helping people with positivity and moving on. So let's deliver our best in helping the mankind by playing our best significant roles whenever we're needed. It'll be our creator in the end who'll reward us with the best.....
In Sha Allah! 😘😍🤩
A very good bye to all until my next post turns up. Do show me appreciation by liking and commenting and do tell me your good deeds from today in the comment section below.
